Easter Fun

A bunny came to our house, dropped off some books, hid some eggs and made two little boys very happy this morning.

The crocheted chocolate Easter bunny I finished for Calvin didn’t make him nearly as excited as the toy cement mixer from Daddy….boys.  However, they did like their new books by Christopher Wormell Chris Wormell: Illustrator.  I got them a while back at a book sale and have been holding onto them for a special gift giving day.  I enjoyed looking at them just as much as the boys, as the illustrations are so bold and graphic.  I would love to be able to make linocuts as gorgeous as this!

We had a delicious breakfast of swiss chard and poached eggs on toast and then headed over to our friends’ house for a visit and an egg hunt. It was a bit too chaotic for photo ops, as I was chasing Calvin and trying to keep Levi from gorging himself on chocolate eggs and jellybeans.  I was able to snap one picture of them wearing their new shirts together…before they got trashed, that is. What was I thinking, putting two little boys in white shirts? Apparently, I wasn’t!

A wonderful day was had by all and it made for a peaceful and quiet (thanks to the sleeping tot) drive home.

Hoping you all had a lovely holiday weekend as well.

Ha! At least they looked darling for a couple of minutes. Gray’s wardrobe is definitely heavy on the dark colors. Boys and dirt. Boys and cement mixers. Boys! 🙂 I’d rather have gotten the bunny…
