A quick little post to say hello and check in. It’s been a very busy couple of weeks, with lots of events taking place in our lives.

We all came down with the stomach flu and were out of commission for a few days. Thank God it didn’t hit Michael because he was the saving grace that pulled us through. Never having had sick children in “that way” before was a bit of a learning curve for us both. Several nights in a row of no sleep (due not only to constant trips to the bathroom, but also to worry about the well being of our children) left us feeling like a truck plowed us over.  I hope that nasty virus stays away for years to come…it might just take me that long to erase the memory of its wrath.

Anyways, not a lot of things got done or made or cleaned or cooked…just sheer survival mode. Thankfully on the last day of the wrath, my parents and nephew arrived from Chicago for a visit.  The timing couldn’t have been better, as we definitely needed the extra love and distraction.  It was a wonderful visit, made up of equal parts activity and equal parts relaxation.  The boys all got along so well and it was so sweet to see them play and interact with each other. My parents celebrated their 40th anniversary while here (post about that to follow soon) and we were able to go out to lunch with them (sans children) for a day of adult only conversation and fun!!! WOW…that was a treat.

Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy, enjoying whatever your days may bring you.

Glad you are all feeling better. Levi’s cousin looks just like him!
